| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Almost black, little brigther than Guinness Draught. Nice head, and again not as creamy as Guinness Draught. Aroma of burned malt, coffee, liquirice and dark chocolate. Flavour is sweet, with a nice dry light bitter finish. Mouthfeel is ligth and thin compared to Guinness Draught. coldmeat23 (233), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Nice and black. Just a slight hint of brown around the edges. Beautiful three-finger head of creamy tan foam. Great retention. Excellent lacing.
Light hints of malt. Light chocolate and coffee notes. Not a whole lot in the nose, really.
Roasted malts. Dark chocolate. Slightly over-roasted coffee beans. Espresso with cream. Dark cherries and figs. Very slight hops bite.
Feels almost perfect. Nice, thick, and creamy. Like velvet.
Excellent session beer. Highly drinkable.
Best major label brew out there.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2009 50cl bottle and 4.2 % abv (different from the one shown, with a screw cap!), but does say "Original" on the label. Dark brown, almost opaque colour, big, soapy and lumpy beige head with generous lacing. Aroma of dark chocolaty malt, not much else. Taste is about as straightforward as the aroma: Espresso-like flavour and bitterness, hardly any sweeter elements at all (a wee bit of chocolate on the side), bitter, dry finish and coffee aftertaste. Closer to "Draught", but not as coal-like, thank God! But much less interesting than their superb "Foreign Extra Stout" (which I rated 4.1), which is the only Guinness I really recommend! jbrus (4872), Delft, Netherlands

Black colour, light brown head, good lace. Light sweet, bitter, very roasted. Sparkling and a bit thin. angrybeerman (107), Dublin, Ireland
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Black with tan head. Nice roasted aroma. Flavor was of roasted malts with strong coffee tones. Dry and bitter. Overall pretty decent and not totally unlike Guinness Draught. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Can in celebration of Arthur’s Day, brought back from Ireland 4.2% abv. Opaque dark brown, almost black with creamy tan head. Aroma is dry chocolate, coffee, a little cola, nice. Flavor is roast, cola, a little smoke, light coffee, not bad. Light body with active carbonation. Not bad, better than nitro that’s for sure. TBone (6790), Pori, Finland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Can from London, abv. 4.2% (rated at home, BB 01/2010).
Almost opaque black color, good tan head, some lace. Light roasted aroma with milky notes. Smooth mouthfeel. Milk chocolaty roasted aftertaste, a bit of sweet milk chocolate and ash. Much better than last Guinness Draughts I’ve had. Roasted aftertaste.
