Opaque darkest brown body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled, tan head that recedes to cover and laces well. Dry barley and roasted malt flavour has some powdered cocoa character and fair roasty bitterness that lingers on the tongue. Dry medium body with lively carbonation that engages the tongue. A decent score for a sentimental favourite. Half pint glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle. shrubber85 (2995), Wallhalben, Germany

Sweet molasses malt flavor. Much better than the bottled version which would be at least a point lower. iammadeofjelly (183), Liverpool, Merseyside, England

Can - September 2005
Pours ruby-black with a medium sized, medium lasting beige-brown head. Aroma is coffier than regular draught version, the carbonatation es more "evident" against the nitro version. Taste is more burnt, perhaps a little bit more bitter. The aftertaste is very subtle. It seems a bit more "mineral" but i couldn´t say if this is because of the aluminium.
Appart from this the other great difference could be that it tastes a little bit more fresh and natural than the regular one, perhaps this being a perception because of reading this one is not pasteurized.
A nice change from the regular one, but definetly not one of my favourite stouts. voota (765), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Black with a small brown head, nice roasty aroma. Fairly different to what i expected, much bitier than the draught, its also easy to detect the sourness. Finish is very bitter and fantastic. Great beer. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2005 Changes as it warms. Aroma is dull however chages into this fruityness which is very plesent and something i would never have expected from guiness. Taste is fuller than draught with the similar light burnt coffee going on. Better than i imagined. MorganDavis (17), Ballarat, Australia
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Sep 2, 2005 I bought a large bottle of this for a past St Pats day. Unfortunately I found it almost undrinkable and bitter. This was a time before I was accustomed to Guinness Draught, and perhaps a retasting is in order to make sure it isn’t as crap as I originally made it out to be. Quite different to what I was expecting. Still black, obviously. In a screw on/off bottle, newish for beer and useful for something heavy like this. Far less kick than the draught version from the pub, though it is less smooth but has a better, easier, bitter beer type taste, whilst the head keeps just as well. My review seems strangely contradictory. Nevertheless a recomended drink, especially for those who want to aquire the taste of stout.
