The flavor is that of smoked malt with some hop bitterness. All in all a very drinkable beer among the more fullbodied beers. Papsoe (14996), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Pitch black with a pretty brownish head, albeit no nitrogen in this bottled version. Very dry, almost ashy with a lasting bitterness all the way through. The mother of dry stouts....Mine was 5% ABV. 101200 oh6gdx (8839), Vasa, Finland

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2006 33cl bottle. Spurred on by SilkTork’s thread on this beer, I got around to actually rating it. Black colour with brown on the edges, lasting beige head. Burnt malt aromas, some toffee too. Some dark fruit. Bit tinny on the carbonation. Finish has choc, coffee, but just a tad thin. Nice though TBone (6767), Pori, Finland

Almost opaque black color, good tan head, some lace. Light roasted aroma with milky notes. Smooth mouthfeel. Milk chocolaty roasted aftertaste, a bit of sweet milk chocolate and ash. Much better than last Guinness Draughts I’ve had. Roasted aftertaste. Maria (6225), Thisted, Denmark
