33cl bottle, and no annoying little nitro ball. almost black on the pour with a big frothy light brown head. lace that lasts to the bottom of my snifter. aroma is of dark roasted malt, raisins and a bit of alcohol. mmmm... this is more full-bodied than the Guinness served here in North America. flavors are more roast malts, licorice, raisins and some chocolate and nuts thrown into the mix. very nice, I could get used to this! Thanks a bunch for the gem Aaron. DJMonarch (6845), Northwich, Cheshire, England

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2006 Bottle at the White Horse, Parsons Green, August 2005. Very dark brown, almost black. Distinctly fruity on the nose, with the emphasis on dried fruit - raisins and sultanas. More fruit, with touches of burnt malt and soft chocolate on the palate. A found it a bit sweet and short of bitterness, which detracted from the mouthfeel somewhat. Some woody edges. Nice enough. I just wish the old bottle conditioned Guinees that used to be made for the UK market was still available.

Reddish hints to the colour more wispy head. More muted aromas. Some liquorice perhaps chocolate also a lot of alcohol and slight mustiness. Much sweeter than the other two. Short bitter roastiness. Quite light but drinkable and smooth. I might have liked this more but the alcohol was too prominent and the sweetness seemed uneccessary. MoritzF (4985), Bochum, Germany

Dusty and dry roasted malt aroma with cacao and notes of coffee. Sweetbitter flavour, dry-ish roastmalty taste with caramel and a touch of raisins, dry finish with a nice roasted bitterness and well-integrated warming alcoholic note. mike4aker (25), USA
