Courtesy of tpd975 and fishingnet. Thanks guys. Pours dark brown to garnet with thin mocha head. The aroma is bold dark fruity esters of sweet black grapes, plums, ripe cherries along with mild roasty to burnt malts. Very fruity aroma and distant from the standard non draft version of this beer. Smells yum. The taste mirrors the aroma with big dark grapes notes, plums, prunes and raisins. Wow, very different Guinness brew.

I was also doubting about the dark beers that look like a coke, however this one really made my day. Creamy body and great brown foam, taste is a great combination, coffe and chocolate plus the roasted malt, wow the result is excellent.

33 cl bottle, bought in Oostende - shared with Roger. Dark brown, almost black, color. Lovely creamy light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, dried dark fruit, coffee, chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, dried dark fruit, fine sweetness, coffee, chocolate. Very fine aftertaste of roasted malt and hops - ending with a dry mouthfeel. Nice, but maybe a bit watery...

Bottle courtesy Trappistenbier. Thanks Filip. Pours black with a large tan head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is the same as aroma but less prominent. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol Very good.

[1251-20080404] 330mL bottle. Sweet malt aroma with mild wood and very faint chocolate hints. Dark dark brown body with a long-lasting creamy tan head. Sweet bitter dates and fig flavour with roasted malt notes. Full body is smooth. Enjoyable.

Funny, I just stumbled on some of my notes from my first order from belgianshop.com. I shared this with my neighbor and we both really enjoyed this one. Much sweeter, much maltier and creamier(wow)than the one you get here in America. By looks you might not know the difference. But by smell and flavor you certainly would. Chocolate and coffee abound. Yum.
