Feb 19, 2009 Tap at Gingerman. Aroma of prune, alcohol, candied sugar. Flavor has more of a well-rounded fruit presence with apple, white grape, green melon, light raisin, pear, in addition to a straight brown sugar note. Rather light bodied from what must be enormous amounts of the candi sugar. Used to love this one, but just ok for me now.

Feb 18, 2009 Updated: Mar 27, 2009Poured a deep copper/ruby color with a thick head. Aroma was dark fruit, caramel and malt. Flavor was almost like a port wine with some malt undertones. really heavy on the dark fruit influence here, plums, raisins. Very nice beer.

Feb 16, 2009 A cloudy copper-brown pour with a very thick, very long lasting off-white head. The aroma was very enticing with obvious yeasty and thick malty notes, along with very interesting sweet, almost apple-ish hints. The flavor was excellent. Very thick malty and yeasty and finishes with a kick in the mouth from the a.b.v. Great beer.

Feb 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Dark brownish amber pour with a nice thick foamy tan head. Aroma of bread, spices and malt. Taste dominated by caramel and Belgian yeast. Very smooth despite the higher alcohol content.

Feb 13, 2009 Updated: Mar 3, 2009Thanks acknud Cloudy brown pours with a tan colored medium head. Aroma is clean and caramelly and very sweet smelling. This beer tastes like candy to me. Very sweet but yet balanced in the end with some well balanced spiciness and bitterness. The alcohol is hardly noticeable due to the high sweetness. Perfect palate: decent carbonation but thick and lasting on the tongue. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer
