After the cleanup; poured cloudy dark brown, brown head. Nice creamy caramel aroma, some apple fruit, a lot of spice. Taste is quite warm, spicy chocolate and caramel. Subtle bitterness comes in late to help balance the malty sweetness. Finishes sweetly, with caramel. Marthinus (122), Denmark

A fine looking beer, even if it is brown and not golden. A nicely flavored, aromatic head leads to a crisp, gritty hoppy flavor. The Begian qualities and spices are definitely evident, but the alcohol is excellently hidden. Finally, a smooth finish lets me call this an extraodrinary beer. JJClark (545), Roscoe, Illinois, USA

Pours a very nice looking deep reddish amber with nice beige head. Aroma is great, citrus, malt, yeasty, caramel, pretty nice! Flavor is very good, sweet, caramel malty, fruit, nice small citrus tang, alcohol, brown sugar, nutty....pretty complex. Mouthfeel is heavy bodied, has high carbonation and a little fizzy. Overall, this is some good shit! Worth the money! DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Bottle courtesy of my brother for christmas, but possibly my sister. Dark reddish brown with a really nice looking medium sized, tan head. Aroma of brown sugar, alcohol, yeast, dark fruit, and some citrusy smelling fruits. Alcohol is well hidden in the flavor, and very little warming presence. Pretty smooth flavor, but it was not bursting with it. Dark fruit, brown sugar, fruit, bread, yeast, and apples. Very minimal hopping. Overall it was pretty enjoyable, with a good amount of subtle flavor.
