Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

pours deep ruby color, generous head, some lacing. nose of plum, malt, sweet fruit and alcohol. flavor is sweety, plummy, malty. oh yeah. and alcoholy. palate is oily, medium bodied. overall, although it is pretty fruity, it is also highly alcoholic, so if you are in a real hurry to get drunk, this just might be the beer for you. cheers. and enjoy!

Pours dark ruby brown with a nice head. Dark fruit, brown sugar and malt. Very sweet flavor with a nice subdued alcohol bite. Very drinkable.

what a great beer. alc.% should not keep you away well rounded aroma, very well balanced taste, with a tendency to the sweet end. ends a little bitter and with a reduced version of the original flavor. truly a work of art. my score is too low.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown beer, big beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, dark fruits, sweet malts. Flavour is very sweet, but smooth and chocolate-like so it doesn’t become cloying. Chocolate flavours and dark fruits, some alcohol, slightly metallic taste now and then. Very good massive ale.

Very fruity and estery beer. Alcohol was quite well hidden due to the yeast characters and the extreme carbonation. Very sweet malt. Got some caramel and toffee notes as well. Real good brew. Would buy again.

Pours crimson with medium head. Delicious malt aroma. Goes down with a strong sugary and carbonated taste. Overly sweet but not unbalanced. Alcohol is well hidden.

Pours golden red with tan head. Great aroma and look good in the glass. The flavor was a bit sweeter than I expected, but had plenty of deep flavors such as dark fruits underneath the sugary caramel as well. The sweetness wonderfully hides the high abv. There is no strong rush of alcohol. Overall a delicious beer!
