Aroma is er, interesting. Aroma has some likeness to Oktoberfest type beers. Light sweet malt with a bit of peppey aroma. Flavor is very reminiscent of the good marzens. Sweet malt, some breadiness, earthiness, and just a dash of spice. I really enjoyed this lager. Thank to CaptainCouger!! Ungstrup (15414), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 3, 2004 An amber beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt. The flavor is of honey, malt, caramel, and roasted bread. A rather sweet but very nice beer. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Feb 6, 2004 Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with a copper label. Says "Limburg Beer", although I don't know what that means.
Pours a clear, light bronze color with white head and ample white lacing. Carbonation appears aggressive.
Mild fruity notes on the nose, raisins, plums, banana. Sweet molasses is poured on that fruit as it warms in a pot.
Medium to big mouthfeel, smacking of carbonation, however. Initially sweet with a hint of anise and molasses, and then a warming, brandy like alcohol sensation.
This is in no way a pale lageras indicated above. It is more of a bigger lager like a Marzen, having some characteristics of a Flanders ale perhaps. 6.5% a.b.v. according to the bottle.
Give this a try. It is a nice sipping beer. Kåstå (1149), Mol, Belgium
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 5, 2004 Amber coloured beer with a small head. Woody, soapy and perfumy aroma. The taste is a bit sweet and flat. Actually quite boring. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2003 Thanks Capt. Cougar for one I've wanted for so long. I suppose this beer defines the boundary of Dortmunder and heller Bock. This is malty and extremely alcoholic: I really think the boozze robs some of the flavor. A little more malt flavor, however, and I think this would be my favorite beer---the perfect intersection of my favorite styles. Funny, I note a hint a that wierd grassy flavor (no, not the generic German hops grassy) that I found in Kraftbrau.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 28, 2003 Colden/copper colour. Intense malt and hops aroma. Taste is a good mix of hops and malt. Bready, especially in the aftertaste. Slight sweetness, a bit of caramel. I don´t think the higher ABV fits the Export style well. radiomgb (2069), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2003 Deep copper in colour. Aroma was of fruit, sugar and bread. Flavour had some nice hoppiness, sugary sweetness and some caramel. Finishes quite smooth with a medium bitterness. Not bad. Thanks CaptainCougar.
