Wondedrful malty aroma, with a subtle noble hop background. Faint hints of honey. Dark gold color, with a dense, off-white head. Light palate, with a good balance of bitterness to round it out slightly. Flavor is malt upfront, with roasted/honey notes, followed by more noble hops. Great roasted malt tail.

I liked this. However, this was my first Dort and think myself a little too "green" to discuss with any authority. It was fuller than a pilsner, less carbonation...nice flavor.

This is a very nice beer. It has a malty palate, a syrupy mouthfeel and a clean finish. Nice color. I definitely can recommend it.

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with a copper label. Says "Limburg Beer", although I don't know what that means. Pours a clear, light bronze color with white head and ample white lacing. Carbonation appears aggressive. Mild fruity notes on the nose, raisins, plums, banana. Sweet molasses is poured on that fruit as it warms in a pot. Medium to big mouthfeel, smacking of carbonation, however. Initially sweet with a hint of anise and molasses, and then a warming, brandy like alcohol sensation. This is in no way a pale lageras indicated above. It is more of a bigger lager like a Marzen, having some characteristics of a Flanders ale perhaps. 6.5% a.b.v. according to the bottle. Give this a try. It is a nice sipping beer.

Apperance is attractive; a dark copper color with a big off white head that is nicely retained. Aroma is er, interesting. Aroma has some likeness to Oktoberfest type beers. Light sweet malt with a bit of peppey aroma. Flavor is very reminiscent of the good marzens. Sweet malt, some breadiness, earthiness, and just a dash of spice. I really enjoyed this lager. Thank to CaptainCouger!!

Malty aroma with some liquorice and tropical fruit. Sweetish taste, malty and very fruity (pineapple, orange). Some alcohol. Full bodied. I love it!

Clear golden appearance with no carbonation. Some maltiness with a medium to full body. Impressive.
