Pours clear golden and a foamy snow white head. Sweet and sticky malt and alcohol aroma with an unpleasant skuny edge. Extremely sweet flavor with notes of toffee and some bitter hops in the finish. Strangely the alcohol doesn’t show nearly as much in the flavor as in the aroma. Not the worst ESL, but not very pleasant either.

(Bottle 30 cl) Dark colden, almost copper coloured beer with a pretty much non-existing head. Filtered and extremely potent, with clearly marked alcohol. Way over the top for a rather thin body. Hard one to finish. 100799

Bottled. Clear dark golden colour. Small lightly beige head. Cookie malt and slightly alcoholic nose. Malty, pretty sweet and with an alcohol flavour. Hints of marcipan. An average and one-dimensional beer. A tad too sweet. But somehow I like ESLs.

30 cl bottle, bbe October 2005. Light amber, clear and shiny with a little sparkle, weak off-white head that disappears quickly. Sweet malty and alcohol aroma, a bit soapy. Sweet prevails in the (relatively rich, though) taste, too, along with some alcohol and a light peppery spiciness. The palate is weaker than expected and a bit astringent.

(Bottled) Clear golden color with a medium, white and frothy head. Moderately malty, sweetish-alcoholic aroma. Quite alcoholic, honey-malty flavor with mildly bitter finish. Medium-bodied, softly carbonated palate. The first Dutch malt liquour for me.

Bottle. Warm golden with small, fast disappearing head. Malty-sweet, bready, lightly fruity, alcohol blends in well. Full bodied. Thanks Jbrus.
