Bottle at Chris_o birthday bash 08. Now everyone was fairly horrible about this beer, but I drank it quite easily and even had a second glass. OK so it isn’t really a beer so doesn’t score very highly but in terms of drinkability on a hot afternoon, it does the job. Very fruity aroma. Like kiddie’s sweets, but not overly offensive. It’s an ok sweetish fruit drink.

It looks like a raspberry soda with a large, pink head. The aroma has notes of raspberry and citrus, and the flavour is sweetish with notes of citrus and a clear, but sadly somewhat artificial raspberry note. It’s quenching sure - but a bit too sweet and artificial. 2339

White bottle, found in the Mitra Hengelo. Pinkish red color, pink foam. Sugary aroma with artificial passion fruit. Sugary sweet flavor with artificial plums and aspartame. Grenadine. Thin. Terrible.

A Mes rate: Bottle at the Oi Oi Saveloy tasting at Chris O’s.
Bright girly pink. Probably looks great painted onto fingernails but not in my glass thanks. The aroma is actually quite pleasant. Artificial as hell and full of cardamine red boiled sweets. The flavour is what I would expect the stuff Sim buys from Lush to taste like should I be daft enough to drink it. Perfumed body wash. Erm... lovely.

The colour is the unforgettable bewitching plastic pink of the Dutch lemonadebottles that looked so inviting to a seven year-old, and tasted oh so sorely syrupy. Pours with a giant bordello-pink head. Artificial fruity-raspberry nose, faint citric aroma. And it tastes of plastic too - the placemat has been seriously trashed with raspberry jam of the cheapo shelf. There’s really a burnt plastic off-flavour whisking around. Very carbonated. The plastic keeps hanging around. Awful.

Bottled, 330 ml, pasteurised, at Cafe A ge Pannes, Schin op Geul, NL Limburg. Bright pink with light pink head. Whew, sweet, sweet, sweet with artificial raspberry notes, loses out to the Wittekerke Rose in Sandra’s book. Not good, however, I do think that this type of beer will catch on in the UK if given a chance.

On tap@Locus. Artificial spoiled raspberry aroma. Pinkish red color, pink head, good lace. Very sweet, different sorts of red berries syrup flavor, light bitterness, sticky mouthfeel. Probably great for those that don’t like beer.

330ml bottle at London tasting, May 2008 (courtesy hughie). BBE Aug 2009. Shocking pale pink colour. Smells of cherry cough mixture. Tastes of pear drops and cherry bombs. All very sweet, sticky and artificial. Pretty much as expected. "Beer with red fruit extracts" sums it up pretty well although the word "synthetic" needs to be in there too. Rather similar to Wittekerke Rose. Not very pleasant at all.
