Commercial Description:
WinterVrund a royal beer from Limburg (southern part of Holland). A mix of top and bottom fermentation. Brewed at the end of the year with a different recipe every year. Best to be enjoyed with friends ("frun" in Limburgs) giving you a warming feeling inside for the cold winter months. Wintervrund is like all our beers unpasteurised and environment friendly brewed. The best temperature to drink Wintervrund is between 10 and 12 °C. NOTE: 2007 is actually released in the winter 2007/2008.

Amber, red/brown coloured brew. He has got a nice aroma. A bit malty and hints of cinnamon. Flavor is not too bad, spicy, herbs and a bit cinnamon. Not too good, but drinkable.

lots of cinnamon in taste and aroma, also some roasted malt, yeast and fruits in the taste. yes, badly balanced, like Bierkoning stated. finishes fruity and sweet. it doesn’t annoy me, but it’s not certainly great!

(bottle, traded with bierkoning) Clear and dark amber coloured body with a foamy brown medium head. Sweet toast-malty nose with caramel, a yeasty-fruity tinge and a mix of different spices (cinnamon, cloves, pepper). Sweet flavour, medium body, smooth carbonation. Sweet malty taste, slightly toasted with caramel; spices and alcohol become more and more apparent towards the finish.

Cinnamon aroma and flavor. Malty sweet. The cinnamon is dominant and ruins the balance of this beer. Thin to medium bodied. I don’t like it.
