What this chap has in his cellar when he gets to know you, and it is a great surprise. This is a smooth Christmas pudding of a beer, Port / Sherry comes to mind too. Raisins, fruit, caramel and spices all mixed in, warming and good. SudsMcDuff (1695), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Dark reddish brown collour with a light tan head. Aroma of spice, apple and red berries. Red berries, spice and maltyness to the flavour with a dry clean finish. The balance is nicly proportioned and the berry and spice flavour isnt overwhelming or pushy and the maltyness helps bring the other flavors to their right. Ungstrup (15337), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Bottled. A deep red beer with a low tan head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of berries, and lesser notes of malt, metal, alcohol, fruit - especially apples, and some spices - I pick up cloves. The flavor is quite sweet, but with a good body to back it up, and a very complex mixture of spices (cloves, cinnamon, and coriander), malt, caramel, alcohol, and some fruit. The end is very smooth with notes of spices and caramel lingering around. The alcohol bites slightly in the tongue. maupie (620), Roosendaal, Netherlands

I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is spice. Bov (5478), Bienne, Switzerland
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2007 from crackedkettle.com - clear and dark ruby colour, little beige head leaving a correct lacing; complex nose of cloves and cinnamon, cherries, apples and blood; sweet with a good malt backbone, a low bitterness and a long aftertaste where the spices and fruits play together again, this time with a touch of warming alcohol - a pleasant surprise KnutAlbert (3216), Oslo, Norway

Some Christmassy spices, too, making this a fine winter beer. Some sourness in the finish and a long warming glow. Great stuff! gunnfryd (3601), Kristiansand, Norway
