Aroma is spiced and slight oxidised. Sweet malty flavour. Light spice note in the finish. Flavour is more fresh than the aroma. Ends with a lingering sweet caramel malt and light fruity note. The back-label claims that this is both top- AND bottom-fermented. I’ve seen this before but still don’t understand the principle. Dark amber, filtered, no head to talk about. Malty and sweet with a rather discreet hoppiness. Fine if not exactly thrilling. (Had somehow expected a wheat-beer "Witte", but I reckon "Witte Kerst" just means "White Christmas".) 280405
