Pours a murky and opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Lovely aroma of hard roasted malts, vanilla and oak. Solid body, hard roasted malts - but never burned - vanilla and dried fruit again with a subtle oaky touch. A little licorice also. Warming alcoholic finish. Everything here is subtle and balanced, nothing is overdone. Very nice indeed. 031009 thewolf (5738), Kolding, Denmark

Pours very deep brown, almost black. Medium creamy beige head that fizzes away to a 1cm thick, staying head. Aroma is sweet, roasted caramel, some chocolate, bourbon-like vanilla. Lots of oak. Medium carbonation, nice creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of tart oak at first, then well-roasted, sweet malts. Chocolate abounds among sweetish vanilla. LIngering bitter, sweet, fat, coffee-like bitterness. Generally quite sweet (the oak adds to this). Very light viniousness. Nice.
