As is usual in a curry house I just order a beer you get a pint of kingfisher/cobra/whatever they serve. Whilst supping said pint I see bottles of an unfamiliar beer being conveyed to other thirsty patrons. After finishing my first as quickly as possible (without appearing like too much of your typical lager swilling curry munching lout) I order one of those Gurkha beers. Whilst not perhaps worthy of getting as excited about as I did it was quite passable to wash down my curry. More sweet fruity flavours than is normal with many lagers. Hops dont play too much of a part. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

Nice pilsener golden with a delicious, creamy head. Exotic, fruity nose - banana?? Very light-bodied with almost no bitterness. Slightly sweet and actually incredibly delicate and fresh. 170705
