| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 5, 2006 An unclear dark orange cider with no head. The aroma is sweet and like over ripe fermenting apples. The flavor is sweet with notes of apple core and yeast leading to a dry end. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2005 Bottle conditioned (from Southwick Brewhouse, BBE May 07). Much less fruity than the Gwatkin Yarlington Mill I tried the night before but it has that classic west country cider nose. Fairly austere and light with what for some might be fairly challenging acidic flavours and some tannic wood. The only problem I found is the bottle conditioning and therefore sparkling body tends to emphasise the thinner more negative aspects but tasty all the same. Hazy golden appearance. Aroma of wood and apples. Very acidic and powerfull. It is a fantastic cider and very sour. Extremely spicey as well. The dryness and the woods are working together to perfection. This is the real thing!
