Commercial Description:
"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.
US version is 9%.

Dark Brown, 3" of cloudy like creamy head. Huge head retention. Cocoa, Wheat and STOUT...Very much a yummy beer. It’s a light tasting stout with a big wheat flavor and a cocoa. Light roasted norwegian heaven. Nice clean smooth mouthfeel. I can drink these till the cows come home....back to the beer....MMMM SO DAMN GOOD!

Bottle. Black colour with a huge beige head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, chocolate and licorice with strong smoked notes. Strong but good.

Pours pitch black with a big foamy light brown head. Aroma of sweet roast, dark chocolate, licorice. Mouthfeel is heavy bodied with smooth carbonation and just a bit of noticeable alcohol.

Bottle. Pours black with a super thick dark tan head like a milkshake that dissipates rapidly. Aroma of bitter chocolate, sweet roasted malt, and alcohol. Flavor of light roasted malt, apple skins, and an odd sweet vegetal quality. Thin mouthfeel. Something was off with this beer and it just wasn’t very tasty.

Bottle shared with BrianK. Pours a dark black body with a brown head. Sweet roasted chocolate, and maple with a light woodiness. Light wheat with some licorice to seal the deal. Good brew.

500 mL bottle. Consumed somewhere between 10-11-08 and 10-13-08 (I forgot to write down the date). Opaque dark chocolate or coffee appearance. Large amount of dark tan to light sable head. Sweet, sharp, green apple aroma. Yeasty and vegetal smell. Cookie dough as well as lemon zest, zuchini, and rhubarb scents. Pleasant and unique aroma. Roasted coffee dominates the flavor. Not bad for what it is, but I’m not a coffee guy. Simplistic taste, especially compared to the complex aroma. Excessively bitter, dry aftertaste. Medium to slightly full body. Oily and silky in the palate. Dark Force is an interesting beer, but by no means an outstandingly good one.

About a 2 inch high dark brown head of very small and dense bubbles. Head reduce slowly. Aroma is very nice wafting across the table. Rich roasty aroma with some dark chocolate, dark fruit, sweet molases and a hint of smoke. Very dark chocolate brown. Quite oily looking in the glass. There is no lace at all as the head consistently slides down the sides of the glass. Lots of roasted grains, light coffee, a bit of bitterness, some dark chocolate and some wheat grittyness. Body is a bit thinner than I expected but still pretty full. Finishes creamy and smooth with a lingering bit of dark roasted grains. A pretty damn good impy.
