Plenty of roasted malt, salty soy, There is a clean malty note that I don’t recognize at first since I’ve not experienced it in this scenario--it must be wheat? Dark chocolate, alcohol and raisins are also present. Flavor adds some piny hops, though the roast and dark chocolate (go figure) is dominant. Roasty dry ashy finish with bitterness peaking at a 3-4. Full creamy body with moderate soft carbonation--silky even. AmEricanbrew (1929), orange, California, USA

Rich, roasted malt and nut aroma with cocoa and sublime floral hops. Chewy mouthfeel. Great taste mirrors the aroma with nutty roasted malts and cocoa. Excellent stout here. 12177 ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

Aroma is sweet burnt malts. Sweet caramel burnt chocolate malts. Buttery taste and pallet. Better as it warms. Ummmm. So good. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Pours deep dark brown with initially tall mocha head. The aroma is dark roasted malts mixed with mild dusty malt astringency and a hint of vanilla. The taste is big roasted malts that bleed into more burnt malts and mild caramel soaking in a broth of smoke. Into the finish its roasty, mildly charred, burnt, coffee and sweet molasses. Comes across very thin for the style. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA

Pretty good, if not a little sour at the end. The bottle says this is an Imperial Wheat Stout, which is a first for me. Decent. NobleSquirrel (1120), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 31, 2008 A pretty drinkable imperial stout. Definitely has a lightened body due to the wheat, though has tons of head, mine gushed, but keeps a thin, dark wisp. Very nice beer. bma4573 (136), Mechanicsville, Maryland, USA

Pours black with a large lasting frothy tan head. Good lacing. Nice aroma of roasted malt & wheat, quite interesting really, along with hints of spices, dark fruit and light hops. Flavour’s roasty, slightly burnt with dark fruit, hops and some grain. Some alcohol but well hidden for the most part. Nice medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel. This is a really interesting version of an Impy Stout, I really liked it.
