Commercial Description:
"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.
US version is 9%.

[rated 3.25.08] Pours black with a reddish hue and a large wheat mocha colored foamy head. large chocolate, cocoa powder, some licorice, butter and cookie dough aroma. As for flavor... three words: LIQUID CHOCOLATE-CHIP COOKIE... fantastic! Slightly chalky body, medium/full. Incredibly easy-drinking/addicting stuff. 8.5.9.4.18 [rerate 6.7.09 batch #116) Pours a cola black, thinner, with lots of fizzy bubbles, makes a lot of noise, big rich foamy fizzy mocha colored head that crackles and pops its way down to a small fizzy froth. Aroma of dark roast, cola, dark wheat, light chocolate, a bit doughy. Flavor is very rich chocolate cookie dough, lightly buttery, dark dark chocolate. A bit oily, fruity, berries, and dark like a Belgian dubbel. Body is med/light with super fizzy active lively soda carbonation leaving a syrupy residue. haha at the bottom of my glass I had a bunch of large sediment/yeast clumps. 7.4. 8.4.15

Bottle, Batch #60 (Dec 2006). Poured not-too-deep brown with a very tall, creamy cap of beige head. The aroma picked up dusty, lightly-toasted caramel, sweet chocolate, and nutty notes with undertones of molasses laced with alcohol.. some wheaty and grassy notes emerge upon further investigation.. intriguing. The flavor had more wheat in the form of sourness (paired with coffee grounds) across the middle and again at the finish.. sweeter chocolates and molasses on the sweet core.. alcohol ramps up through the finish, really warming the belly. Medium-plus bodied, sour, and warm on the palate, leaving a grainy, residual feel after the drink.. interesting idea with the wheat in here.. decent execution.

Bottle. Pours with a dark color and anice creamy brown head. Some bitter chocolates are in the aroma. Flavor has some roasted malts, cocoa and chocolate and some hints of breadiness due to the wheat. Medium body, not as chewy as other Impy Stouts but well done.

Pour is dark cola blackish brown with a tight but big bubbled brown head...smell is roasty and chocolatey with a bright metallic twinge...taste is roasty and sweet with a definite wheat-esque chewy body...cocoa flavors combine with a nice subtle roasted coffee finish...

A different imperial stout to enjoy. Very dark and significant wheat in there, for a happy marriage. Hoppy and very drinkable. It starts wheaty tongue softy and ends imperial stout. Very nice.

Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, my bottle. Gorgeous pour - thick, black, lasting large brown creamy/frothy head - 5-!! Dry deep roast nut oil roast malt, I get the wheat, grainier than most stouts, hint of paint. Solid creamy-dry medium-dark roast taste, hardly any alcohol character and incredibly soft herbal bitterness to balance. Thick, chewy-silky body, soft body, a hint of astringency and increasing herbal bitterness - solid!

Bottle, thanks Hogtownharry, shared with Harry and Blankboy - Proud sawdust colour head, jet black body. Chocolate-hop aroma, quite mild aroma but certainly a memorable one. Flavour, chocolate, malt, whiskey, smoke, wonderfull combination, well disguised alcohol. Nice.
