Commercial Description:
"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.
US version is 9%.

Bottle, batch #75. Very dark black pour with a brown head. Aroma is roasted / burnt chocolate malt and coffee. Smooth and milky mouthfeel. Flavor of sweet chocolate, some roasted coffee, brown sugar. Slightly crisp / dry finish.

black body with brown head..aroma of dark roasted malts, cocoa, dark chocolate...very much charred...very dark, rich flavor that is pure cocoa in the mouth..extremely dry as well..,very nice indeed, but a tad one-dimensional

A wheat stout. An Imperial wheat stout. An Imparial wheat stout from Norway. You have my attention. And it didn’t disappoint. Dark brown/black body under a thick and rich creamy tan head. Italian roast coffee, swiss baking cocoa, fennel, a wisp of smoke. The flavor was rich and robust, with the coffee and chocolate laced with alcohol.

Bottle. Rich ruby black beer with a nice dark tan head. Chocolate, caramel, wheat aroma. Chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, wheat flavor. Rich and full bodied. Yeasty, earthiness lingers with lots of chocolate and roast. Alcohol noticable. Takes a chance and succeeds in something a bit different.

Bottle batch #73. Aroma from first pour was metalic and watery not much there. Second pour from bottle the barley and sweet malt aroms were present odd. Black body with tan head and good lacing. Sweet roasted malts but the creamy chocolate candy flavor was great. Some carbination noticable and had a mild dry aftertaste. Smooth enjoyable stout.

This stout is one of the best I’ve had. I expected less body from a wheat Stout but was pleasently surprised. Pours a black as night brew with a nice tan head that remains throughout the whole beer ( this one was one to savor, not gulp!). The mouthfeel was very nice and filling. Nice dark malty overtones with a slight bittering on the back end. It may have been too cold when I started, but got better as the afternoon passed. Definately one to keep on hand in the beer fridge for a special occasion!
