Oct 12, 2009 Bottle from Bergen bottle shop. Aroma is chocolatey with a hint of fruit to it. Notes of wheat and malt and maybe creme brulee. Very inviting. Pour was really really lively, surprising for such a dark brew. Black body with a giant dark tan, leather colored head on top. Taste is bitter but nuanced with coffee and cocoa

Oct 7, 2009 Dark brown. Head like chocolate mousse. Rich aroma of freshly-ground coffee, malt and wheat, this impression is mirrored in the flavour: the hint of toffee balance the noticeable taste of coffee somewhat. (Thanks to Rune for sharing a bottle at a beer session in Tromsø 02.apr.09)

Oct 6, 2009 Old notes from DØE Valby 07. Black with a light brown head. Nice beer. Roasted malt, coffee and liquorish, combined with the lightness from the wheat and the yeast.

It pours black with a tan head. It’s a bit chocolatey, a bit sweet, very easy to drink.

Oct 4, 2009 Bottle. Interesting new composite style, I"m anxious to try this ... quite dark, but not as thick as a full-on stout. Big rich aroma, followed up with a rich roasty character at first, almost smoky, ashy and chocolatey. Delivers all the definition of a big stout, yet comes in a lighter bodied package than you’d expect -- quite interesting for a 8.5% kick. Delish. (#3693, 10/4/2009)

Sep 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark black with a thick tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, a bit of toasted wheat, and a tiny of sweet malts. Notes of bitter chocolate, coffee, and burnt malts come out too. On the palate it is chewy. The flavor brings out a sweeter chocolate and it finishes rather dry. A great beer.

Sep 21, 2009 Found a bottle of the ’07 at Belmont Station in Portland, OR. a few nights ago. Colour... jet black with a thick head! Nose... very sweet and malty with hints of dark Swiss chocolate. Palate... plenty frothy, though somewhat thin mouthfeel after that, very malty, lots of dark chocolate and mocha and then a loooooong finish!

Sep 20, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a extremely large sized head of foamy finely sized cascading brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind an opaque no visible carbonation black colored body. The very nice aroma was dark brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a burning roasted malt flavor. The flavor contained notes of dark roasted malts. A wonderful best in class brew.
