Commercial Description:
"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.
US version is 9%.

In short: A smooth velvety and peppery imperial stout. Original a very good
How: Bottle 1 pint 9oz (500ml?). Consumed 6 months after I received it in a trade from… someone… Thanks someone.
The look: Black body topped by a medium light-brown head
In long: Unexpected earthy and grainy peppery nose. The beer is very roasted. The high roastiness and spicy/peppery really hide the sweetness and leave a relatively dry finish. The 9% is very well hidden, this brew felt like a peppery session stout. Although it is a wheat impy stout there’s something about the velvety smooth body that reminds me of oatmeal stouts. The smooth and soft body and the harsh peppery/spicy character make it a rather original take on the style. Really nice, may the Dark Force be with you, or at least in a store nearby.

Black in color with a thick head of fine brown bubbles. Aroma is of chocolate and coffee and intense fruit. Flavor is dominated by juicy malts and chocolate with a nice touch of hops.

Dark greige head over black beer with ochre-yellow rims. Fresh malts, noble Continental hops, roasted malts, parsley. Burnt rubber, quite a bit of restsugars, smoked malts, caramel, bit of sweet coffee flavours. Well bodied if not really solid - let’s say filling. Nice! Interesting, intriguing. Batch 171

Bottle. Dark brown with huge brown head. Aroma wiht a hint of wheat and roasted malts. Taste roasted malts and licorice. I have a hard time finding much traces of wheat in this beer. Quite boring.

Extremely intense black/red/brown, dark brown fizzy head. Aroma has some malty sweetness, not as burnt as I expected. Balanced taste, full maltiness and slightly dry finish. Soft feel, warms a bit in the finish but ABV is hidden from taste. With yeast turns exciting red, flavor has more floral notes, yeast in the nose.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a big light brown head. Well-balanced roasted aroma. Remotely tart. Wheat. Faint notes of coffee and chocolate. Flavour is roasted and tart. Notes of alcohol, but in a good way. As it warms, wheat blends in with the roasted notes. Finish is sweetish, bitter and a bit stingy. Roasted and tart. Metallic notes as it warms. Lingering roasted bitterness. A bit too much carbonation. Overall not too complex, but a nice beer. 17-04-09.

Bottle at Brewpub, Copenhagen. Pours black with a steady nice brown head. Coffee aroma, a bit smoked, oaky and woody, licorice and cocoa notes. Coffee and cocoa flavor, some leather some dark fruits. Roasted, maybe some ash.

Pours black with a good light brown head. Aroma is complex, ash, wood, coffee, some smoke, peat, almost whiskeylike. Also has some vinous berry notes. Flavours are bitter chocolate, coffee, smoke, peat, some alcohol, dark berries and some sweet malts. A powdery, ashy feel to it as well. Carbonation could be smoother, leaves the body a bit thin. Seems to have evolved quite a bit since it was bottled. Can’t remember liking it this much first time I had it.
