Commercial Description:
Dobbel Dose or Dobbel Dram is a double IPA made with european style hops rather than US hops. This beer is also heavily dryhopped in the aging tank for the extra hop taste and aroma.
9% alc. 82 ibu and 22 ebc. Made from Maris Otter malt, wheat malt and Crystal.
Serve at 10-12C or 50-55F. Goes well with spicy food and grilled meat. American Bottle Label -- "Double Dram" is made with more of everything, including all the hops the Hand Brewery’s tiny brew-kettle can take. Feisty American hops for bittering are followed by noble Fuggles and Styrian Goldings for a spicy, flowery aroma. As tradition dictates, this is an exceptionally hardy brew, made to weather the long, hard ocean voyage to anywhere...

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a dull hazy toffee color. Nose is booze, apple brandy, fruit, and citrus. Taste is grapefruit cubes with sugar, and the finish is astringent and medicinal. Weak mouthfeel.

Aroma is rather sweet with caramel, malty/sugary sweetness, and lots of grassy hops. Perhaps the lightest hint of orange or lemon. Pours a dark orange brown with a thin non lasting head. The flavor has toast and caramel initially, followed by sweet grassy hops. This moves into a floral and piney bitterness that rides out to a somewhat dry finish that hangs out for a little while.

50 cl. Bottle. Average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Hazy amber color. Aroma of citrus, dusty grassy, yeast, floral and somewhat fruity. Over the palate came caramel, grain and light toasted malt with again some hoppy floral notes. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and dry texture. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Dry and bitter finish. Not quite and DIPA but quite tasty anyways.
