Commercial Description:
Dobbel Dose or Dobbel Dram is a double IPA made with european style hops rather than US hops. This beer is also heavily dryhopped in the aging tank for the extra hop taste and aroma.
9% alc. 82 ibu and 22 ebc. Made from Maris Otter malt, wheat malt and Crystal.
Serve at 10-12C or 50-55F. Goes well with spicy food and grilled meat. American Bottle Label -- "Double Dram" is made with more of everything, including all the hops the Hand Brewery’s tiny brew-kettle can take. Feisty American hops for bittering are followed by noble Fuggles and Styrian Goldings for a spicy, flowery aroma. As tradition dictates, this is an exceptionally hardy brew, made to weather the long, hard ocean voyage to anywhere...

Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Clear dark amber - offwhite head. Nice malty, sweetness, berries, amber malts, dark fruits, light wheaty notes, vinous, nice hoppy, grassy, woody, spicy, straw, caramel, tar, high bitterness. OK.

Bottle. Moderate malt aroma of caramel, light aromas of orange and broth for the hops and yeast, with hints of white wine, pepper and date. Head is small, frothy, slightly off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky orange/tan. Flavor starts light to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and very lightly bitter. Palate is medium to full, oily and has a lively carbonation. It finishes lightly alcoholic. A pretty good beer, just not as hoppy as you’d expect from a DIPA.

Dobbel dram on the label. Sweet, which is unlike most Double IPAs. Heavy alcohol. Hops. Different than most Double IPAs, but very nice overall.

Bottle, batch 153. Cloudy honey/amber color pour with a white head. Fruity and tropical double IPA aroma, spices (cinnamon, clove) and a fair bit of honey like sweetness. Fairly subdued hops, but present enough. Candied orange peel. Hops are more apparent in the flavor, finish is smooth and tropical. Medium body with a tiny bit of booze in the end as it warms. Nicely brewed.

Pours hazy gold into a snifter. Off-white head recedes to skim surface. Resin and orange aromas. Smooth bitter orange with light carbonation and a slight resin finish.

Bottle (April 08/as Dobbel Dram/9%) from Liquid Solutions in Portland, OR. Ripe apricot color with a large frothy off-white head. Strong aromas of fruity hop. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is fruit hop over delicious malt. This is really great stuff.

Cloudy orange colour with a small white head. Hoppy fruity and light piney aroma with a light sweet note. Malty, sweet flavor with hoppy piney notes.
