Commercial Description:
Dobbel Dose or Dobbel Dram is a double IPA made with european style hops rather than US hops. This beer is also heavily dryhopped in the aging tank for the extra hop taste and aroma.
9% alc. 82 ibu and 22 ebc. Made from Maris Otter malt, wheat malt and Crystal.
Serve at 10-12C or 50-55F. Goes well with spicy food and grilled meat. American Bottle Label -- "Double Dram" is made with more of everything, including all the hops the Hand Brewery’s tiny brew-kettle can take. Feisty American hops for bittering are followed by noble Fuggles and Styrian Goldings for a spicy, flowery aroma. As tradition dictates, this is an exceptionally hardy brew, made to weather the long, hard ocean voyage to anywhere...

Bottle from Brugsen. Pours a hazy amber with a very small off-white head. Sweet with mellow hops aromas and caramel backbone. Could easily have had more hops. More cereal aromas towards the finish. Dry finish with a surprisingly strong touch of alcohol. Kinda disappointing.

Bottle. Pours a rather murky rusty orange with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and flowery hops. Flavor is super citrusy, like sucking on a sour orange and grapefruit. Some caramel malt comes through as the beer warms. Mostly sweet with a touch of hops. Nice IIPA.

Bottle. Aroma of citrusy hops and rich malt with toffee, caramel, coffee. Flavor highlights bitter orange juice with those rich, earthy malt tones weaving in. Rides waves of sweet and bitter, alternating and crossing over at the nodes. Upon some warming, more varied tropical fruits come into play as the sweeter notes show off more. Quite tasty through it all.

Poured a hazed gold with a large and long lasting white head. Citrus hops with a phenolic spice aroma. Dry and malty notes. The flavor is sweet with a citrus mix with malt. Finishes semi-dry with a long bitterness and odd taste. Medium bodied.

Tasted 10/9/08. 500ml bottle. First pour ia hazy with a golden amber receeding hue. Layer of white head. Musty malty aromas. Citrus aromas with hints of lemons and grapefruit. Touch grassy hop note. Full bodied but totally rounded palate. Slightly dry and chalky. Medium effervescence, just enough to appreciate. Candy tart citrus flavors. Good mix of alcohol burn and a Belgian yeasty character. Woody citrus hop profile, and a decent amount of them. Piney and earthy. Nice melding. Higher alcohol and American hops. Good roll. Fun drinking.

Pours amber with a good sized soapy tan head. The aroma has some earthy hops, plastic, lots of mineral traits, muddled citrus and murky toasted malt. Medium slick cloying body with a lot of soft carbonation. The flavor starts with muddled malt, milky fruity / citrusy hoppiness, peppery spice and lots of earthiness. The finish is peppery with minerals and somewhat oxidized. This is okay, but nothing special.

Picked this up at SuperBrugsen? supermarket Denmark and consumed at home Sun 05-10-08 Pours a murky orangey brown colour with a white bubbly head. Loz had first dabble of this and thought that she could get some chocolate (I never) I found this quite sweet and citrussy, some pine nicely hoppy but lacking that crucial bitter bite that I like in a good IPA. This was a good though not great beer but then I really wasn’t that bothered about my beers this evening.
