| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Bottled from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Orange/brown coloured, small dying head. Very nice hoppy nose, alcoholic, a bit saison-like. Very one-dimensional flavour though, just some hops and alcohol. Thin mouthfeel. I like the effort of bringing in European hops, which works well for the aroma, but this double IPA is seriously lacking complexity. bierkoning (6099), La Tropica, Netherlands

Malty sweet but also oily hopbitter flavor with pineapple. Notes of alcohol. Surprisingly well balanced. Oily hoppy piney aftertaste with mint. Good! RuneStumo (530), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 29, 2009 Bottle from State Line. Big disappointment. The pour is okay, I suppose, but not as full and frothy as you’d want considering the style. Amber with a minimal head. Aroma is quite soapy, with fading hops and some dying flowers. Body is thinnish, and the taste is actually somewhat acrid. Sweet notes in there for sure, but the malts can’t save the roadkill. Maybe it’d be better fresh (I believe this is about 6 months old, but it shouldn’t be nasty). jeffc666 (1895), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 24, 2009 Batch #150 - cloudy deep orange, old bone colored head. aroma is fairly muted citrus. flavor is a bit flat. hops do not really stand out, though neither do the malts. some yeastiness. not a typical IIPA for sure. astringency leaves the mouth a bit puckered. very prickly pre-swallow. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2009 Dobble Dram batch 150 pours a very cloudy green grown, a bit weird looking, with a tight head and good lace. The aroma is floral, sweet, hops, and kind of green. The flavor is founded with sweetness, a touch refreshing with some wheat malt, and solidly hop oriented, but in a tasteful way. The palate is smooth yet lively and cleansing. Overall, quite nice. I could drink this all day. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
