Dec 22, 2009 Bottle from Kahn’s, batch 150. Pours muddly orange/brown with tall/thick foamy off-white head. Nose is bready citrus hops. Flavor is floral, fruity, slightly citrus hops, but overall watery and on the bready side. Soapy at times, kind of a mess. Not my favorite DIPA by a longshot.

Dec 21, 2009 Bottle: Pale caramel, however its very cloudy and dirty, huge frothy off-white head, spotty lacing, sediment floats about. Heavy dull citrus sweetness, faint alcohol, malty nose. Dull citrus sweetness up front, malty,
warming, not very biting or bitter. My kinda of IIPA, however this one feels like its been aged a while. Big citrus aspect, but on the candied side. Moderate to full body and mouthfeel. Lingering candied citrus
peel like maltiness. If you like your IIPAs on the sweet side, this one is for you. Could have used a bit of hope bite to balance it out, but otherwise its pretty tasty.

Dec 11, 2009 As Dobbel Dram, brewed in 08... big fluffy white head, amber body hazy... hop aroma quite pungent... Very tea like aroma with big notes of orange, with some slightly sweet malts in the background... lively body, malty flavor with caramel notes and subdued notes of orange tea... very dry finish.. medium bodied...

Dec 10, 2009 Bottled (thanks T.M.). Slightly hazy reddish amber colour with mediumsized fluffy/bubbly beige head. Aroma is dark dry fruits, some sweet malts as well as mild notes of honeyish sweetness and alcohol. Flavour is quite much the same, but also has some slight nutty notes as well as some sweetness like burnt sugar, but not exactly it.

Dec 7, 2009 500ml bottle from De Molen. Hazy orange copper. Lasting beige head. Is this supposed to be funky and sour? Having spent 3 days in Belgium I just assumed everything smelt of Brett, but this did too. Really quite hoppy leafy and ascetic on the aroma. Really aggressive in the mouth. Some bretty sourness on the end. I mean hot peppery hops. Big, bold. Alcohol has just a hint of heat on finish. Bretty finish is really very good. Almost Orval like on the bretts. Bizarre. Not sure I like it, but it does deliver a huge amount of interest.

Dec 6, 2009 Pours a cloudy dark amber/orange color with golden orange hues when held to a light source and a massive 3 finger off-white head with excellent retention, only slowly settling into a lasting cap that leaves sheets of soapy lacing behind. This looks great!
Floral citrus hop aroma with hints of grapefruit, orange and lemon peel, mango and dry earthy pine and subtle caramel and biscuit malt.
Chewy resinous body with a huge bitter floral hop presence up front. Lots of sweet citrus balancing out the earthy dry pine presence with hints of grapefruit, mango and orange peel. Caramel malt backbone is a little stronger than I like but provides decent balance. Crisp dry finish. Very good.

Dec 5, 2009 (bottle - 500 ml) Cloudy amber pour with a thin white head and light carbonation. Aroma has a lot of caramel and very light citrus hops. Flavor is sweet and caramelly at the beginning with a lightly bitter middle and mild hints of flowers and some hop bitterness. Some citrus near the end and very light bitter aftertaste that goes away quickly. Medium-bodied and easy to drink, albeit slightly confusing.

Dec 4, 2009 Hazy golden colored brew. Aroma is yeasty, mild hops. Flavor is mild hopped, some fruits, citrus. Nice, but I like the american hops better.
