Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid dull orange with 3-finger off-white head and great lacing. Nose is resiny hops, pineapple, spicy yeast, and funky, female feety notes. Tastes resiny hoppy, with mango, pineapple, tangerine, some earthy, floral, and funky notes throughout. Very complex palate and a very unique flavor profile make this one an interesting, Belgian-flaired take on this style.

50cL bottle, batch NR155, brewed March 2008, reviewed 9/12/08. Amber color, quick dying white foam. Aroma is slightly soapy, some fusels booziness and autolyzed yeast. Flavor continues with the dead yeasty bite, hops are just barely there, adding some mintiness. Nice body, but the flavors just don’t jive for me.

500ml Bottle: Aroma of hops, caramel, yeast, alcohol, and citrus. Poured amber/orange/copper in color with a medium-sized, rocky, tan head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of hops, alcohol, fruit, yeast, and citrus. Medium body. Thin, chewy texture. Soft to average carbonation. Dry, sweet, hoppy finish with a slight hint of tartness.

Sampled from 500 ml bottle and shared by badgerben. Pours a hazy copper amber brew with a thin and slow dissolving beige head that leaves behind a thin off-white ring. Aroma of tart green apples, some multi-grain malt, grapefruit and a touch of caramel. Taste is medium bodied with a dry hop and tangerine flavor. Finish is a semi-dry and flowery hop aftertaste that slowly disappears to a herbal dry flavor.

Copper color with a thin head. Slightly soapy and an earthy hop aroma. A little apple, too. Strong, grassy hop flavor. Some herbal quality. Tangerine.
