Bottle at RBESG. Black body, tan head. Sweet malty flavour but something is a little off, not sure what. A decent Scandinavian porter flavour with nice smoke and chocolate notes with cups full of coffee. Dry and bitter finish. Not bad but a little thin. gunnfryd (3615), Kristiansand, Norway

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 27, 2007 Bottle. Very dark pour, ruby/brown color, with a beige head. Chocolate, coffee, burnt malt and a wee note of sourness in the aroma. I found the aroma slightly better than the flavor, but the flavor isn’t bad either, with chocolate, coffee and hops being the main elements. A bit thin body, I could wish for a fuller one, but being only 4.5% ABV, I wasn’t surprised. The finish has hops, roasted malt and is a bit fruity. A nice, English-style porter. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2007 200ml taster from a bottle at Tromsø Ølfestival. Moderate chocolate aroma joined by a touch of anise. Low-level foam over a dark-brown body. Roasted malts in a taste that is supported by coffee beans. Salty and a bit smoky. The brew gives an overall impression of being rather sheltered in flavour. (15.08.2007).
