Commercial Description:
London Porter - has a lot to offer your tastebuds, this porter includes generous amounts of chocolate malts to render a mild roasty flavour but still a nice intensity. In addition we use balanced amounts of crystal malts and flavouring hops for a good fruitiness and aroma. To be served at 9-12 degrees C. Bottle conditioned - unfiltered and unpasteurised, no artificial carbonation. (Not to be confused with the stronger Haandbryggeriet Porter.) (Bottle 50 cl) Pours completely opaque black with a small, beige head. Roasted aroma with some licorice. Medium body, soft and rather flat mouthfeel. Dominated by roasted malt accents, almost creamy smooth with touches of both licorice and coffee. Dry with some bitterness. Quite an intense and concentrated flavour pattern for a beer of this modest strength. 200707

Bottled. Strong liquorize aroma, and the taste is liquorice and coffee. It coames across as a bit too salty. Rather flat, a bit watery. It is one of the best beers available in Norwegian supermarkets, but it’s not fulfilling its potential.

Biggish dark brown head. Opaque black body, barely translucent dark red at edge. Sweet delicate licorice and toffee aroma with notes of coffee and traces of pine needles. Sweetish coffee taste with minty licorice notes and dark chocolate. A tad watery, but definitely good for the amount of alcohol, and still a smooth mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and harmonic. Dry, coffeeish aftertaste with notes of dark chocolate. Burnt coffeeish taste lingers. Very nice! (0.5l bottle.)

500 ml bottle. Pitch black. Rich cocoa aroma. Lots of roasted malt character. Nicely rounded flavours and very mellow as there is is little carbonation. Hops are there but they hide well into the background and never come to the fore. This is a great porter. Wonderful balance and very smooth. Great drinkability.

Bottled at Pikkulinttu, Helsinki. Black, small head. Light fruity coffee aroma. Medium sweet and medium bodied with clean rounded mouthfeel. Fairly low bitterness, A core of chewy, roasty malt provides everything this beer offers, and that is quite a lot.

Bottle. Opaque dark brown with a proper carbonation level (read: not so fizzy as we know the Haandbryggeriet beverages). A tiny, beautiful chocolate head quickly fading to a ring of foam. Dry and mild aromas of dark chocolate and roast. Taste is dry and powerful with espresso, roast, licorice, bittering hops and tar. Medium body. Lingering bitter, coffee-ish finish. A very well made Porter!

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Dense light brown head. Sweetness and cocoa in the nose. Light roasty. Flavour is cocoa, light roast, light spice. Has some herbal notes. Is very dry. Medium bodied. Ends on a light roasty bitterness. Quite good, but a little consolation after todays totally fucked up footballmatch between Denmark and Sweden.

Black colored, dark brown head. Strongly sweet and roasted coffee aroma, chocolate dominating with light hops. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also roasted, still slightly watery palate. Hops come up nicely in drying aftertaste.
