Commercial Description:
London Porter - has a lot to offer your tastebuds, this porter includes generous amounts of chocolate malts to render a mild roasty flavour but still a nice intensity. In addition we use balanced amounts of crystal malts and flavouring hops for a good fruitiness and aroma. To be served at 9-12 degrees C. Bottle conditioned - unfiltered and unpasteurised, no artificial carbonation. (Not to be confused with the stronger Haandbryggeriet Porter.) 500 ml bottle, many thanks to Ole_R ! Batch nr. 58, brewed Nov. 06, BB Nov. 08. ABV is 4.5%. Black colour, reddish brown in the highlights, huge, creamy and lasting brown head. Lovely aroma of chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Nice roasty flavour, notes of roasted / burnt malts and coffee. Fairly dry, medium mouthfeel. Moderately bitter finish.

Bottled at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Dark brown colour, almost black. Beige medium-sized and -bubbled head. Burned flavour with coffee, very strong aroma. Fizzy, silky palate. Taste coffee, with some silky smoothness. Good!

Scandinavian Beer Night. Thanks to Akevitt. Dark brown color with no head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Smoky taste, fading a bit into roasted malt and a dark chocolate. Lovely.

500 ml bottle. Pitch black. Rich cocoa aroma. Lots of roasted malt character. Nicely rounded flavours and very mellow as there is is little carbonation. Hops are there but they hide well into the background and never come to the fore. This is a great porter. Wonderful balance and very smooth. Great drinkability.

Bottle, batch 164 shared by akevitt. Pours an opaque, dark brown body with a quickly dissapating, light brown head. Aroma of cocoa, dark malts, licorice, and a hint of ash. Flavor is similar. Lightly carbonated with a medium body. Dry finish with a light cocoa aftertaste.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours completely opaque black with a small, beige head. Roasted aroma with some licorice. Medium body, soft and rather flat mouthfeel. Dominated by roasted malt accents, almost creamy smooth with touches of both licorice and coffee. Dry with some bitterness. Quite an intense and concentrated flavour pattern for a beer of this modest strength. 200707

Bottle bought at Fenakroken, Oslo. Darek brown with a light brown, creamy head. Intense coffee and chocolate aroma. Milder flavours, more vanilla, still coffee and chocolate in the lead, mild roast, a bit milky. Silky texture, rather flat. Very satisfying.

0,5lt bottle thanks to KnutAlbert. Black with thin beige head. Neither to sweet nor to bitter. Aromas and taste of caramel, coffee, roasted malt and hints of liquorice.Dry finsh with nice aftertastes. If only it weren’t that light. Nevertheless a very decent beer that I really enjoyed.
