NosirIwont (876), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Dec 30, 2006 Bottle. 9.5%. Pours red/brown with a light brown head. Sweetish malty aroma with fruity notes. Sweetish smoked malt flavour with underlying hoppy notes, which comes out as it warms. Finish has a sharp sweetness and remote alcohol notes. Very drinkable and smooth despite the alcohol percentage – not as heavy as other barley wines. 30-12-06. Ungstrup (11354), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 10, 2006 A hazy amber beer with a nice off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with clear notes of the alcohol, while the flavor is sweet malty - a bit too sweet for me. Thomas_E (5065), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 6, 2006 Deep reddish colour with a creamy tan head. Malty, caramel sweet aroma with fruity notes and hints of the alcohol. Malty, caramel sweet flavor with hints of fruit. Emil (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 7, 2006 Draught. Ruby colour with a beige head. Sweet brown sugar, caramel, light alcoholic aroma and taste. Medium body with a light sweet finish. MiP (6019), Flensburg, Germany May 31, 2006 Updated: Aug 12, 2006Draught. Weak, peppery aroma, I seem to get a little smoke also. Quite cloudy, very dark red colour. Big, semi-stable, light brown head. The flavour is quite malty and a bit acidic. Roasted aftertaste. After a few months more of lagering the flavour is more rounded and less sharp. Definitely improved.
