The aroma is very roasted combined with notes of soy sauce and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and a bit of chocolate, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing. Pinball (2784), Allerød, Denmark

| 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Sep 10, 2009 maybe the best imperial stout i’ve ever had. looks like an ordinary impy, smells a bit better, sweet and roasty with a coffee chocolate inviting scent that is a fucking joy. smells like motherfucking s’mores. damn. i can taste the alcohol with the mellow dark chocolate, and it is good, roast is just right with a warm half finished cup of coffee with vanilla and whiskey. straight forward clean and delicious. right amount of sweetness, right amount of roast, right amount of bitter, this beer is all the right shit, and if the description is correct is not a kitchen sink beer, maybe more folks should streamline their recipes. i’m glad whoever designed this one did.

Aroma is caramel, sugar, strong alcohol, liquor and some wood. Flavour is quite much the same. Some chocolate also. Quite strong alcoholic and liquoriceish sweet notes. buzzoven (333), Japan
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Deep black inky pour with a dark brown head. Rich rum raisin smell....smells sweet, heavy alcohol. Was initially shocked at the first sip at how unbelievably great this tasted. Super complex first impressions...sure, it had the basic template of an Imperial Stout, but there were cherry flavours, brandy notes, touches of sour apple, the presence of burnt coffee, toffee, and caramel. Not too mention a definite red wine character that really sets it apart. The mouthfeel was the only let down to me as it just seemed to thin and oily for these kinds of huge flavour blasts. The finish was dry as hell and retained a strong bitter edge on my tongue. The balance and malt complexity at work within this beast are impressive...as is the handsome Norse label.
