Haandbryggeriet Pale Ale

50cl bottle, Batch 198. Hazy dark amber, tiny pale head. Nose has lots of spritzy grapefruit lemonade, spiciness, sweet berries and ashy yeast, same as other Haanbrygs. Flavor has more of that yeast, making it a bit messy and stodgy, along with cranberries and red grapefruit, earth and dull yeast in the finish. Strongly foaming, lively yet smooth palate, not too light. This could be nice if fresh, I like the hop profile. But their house yeast still gives me the chills.

500ml bottle. Very nice fruity aroma when poured. Golden color body. White-yellow head. Flower-, honey-, fruity taste. Balanced bitterness.

batch 212 50cl bottle@biergasthof schiffner. Fresh citric hop nose. crystal clear appearance, light carbonation, dark amber in colour, creamy white head with good steady lace. Very fresh taste, quite bitter and noticeably lacking american hops, bit horseblanket like aftertaste and earthy. but generally a very nice and unusual pale ale. like.

Bottle. Orange blonde. Tangerine, lemon and flowery hops in the aroma. Sharp, citric, peppery hopbitter flavor with lemon notes. A bit thin, but full of flavor. Some yeasty notes in the aftertaste.

From the Bottle at Chris O’s, GBBF Week 09/08/2008 Hoppy aroma. Bronze coloured and a little hazy in appearance. Crisp on the palate with some bitterness in a dry finish.

A bottle 0.5L Batc 198. Mild hoppy nose. Pale beige head. Slightly hazy orange yellow colour. Slightly sour taste. Malty taste with some grapefruit notes.

500 ml bottle. Hazy golden colour wiht light head. Aroma has hoppy citrus and grapefruit. Taste jas lots of hops, quite much for a pale ale. But gotta like the bitter dry taste.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Oslo. Golden amber body. With medium head. Nice hoppy and pine nose. Taste of hops and pine. Nice and bitter and dry. Some citrus in the finish. A real quality product. Very good if perhaps a tad homogeneous.
