| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average brownish bubbly head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Dark mahogany colour. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, mild floral and hoppy feel. Over the palate came nice malty thick notes. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet and bitter flavour in balance. Coffee and chocolate lingering finish. badlizard (2360), Berkeley, California, USA

Very roasty, almost burnt taste, with intense coffee flavors, some berry notes, and a mildly bitter milk chocolate finish. GG (1648), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle was labeled as Norse Porter. A very nice porter from Norway. Not the biggest or hugely complex of porters, but an easy to drink, flavorful, nice smelling beer is always welcome. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate with just a subtle twang of underlying bitterness. Appearance is black, with a nice tan head, thick and creamy. Flavors were much the same as it was with the aroma. Dark chocolate and roasted malts had top billing. The bitterness level remained, which had that espresso-like bitterness. Finish was a tad chalky. Still, a very enjoyable porter. Once I would definitely drink again. marcus (1884), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2008 This black ale poured with a decent brown head that dissipated quickly. There is a strong alcohol malt aroma and a carbonated chocolate malt flavor, neither sweet nor bitter. I can’t pronounce it, but I like it. akevitt (97), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Thanks to Badgerben for sharing. Batch #79. The beer was opaque dark brown with light brown foam. In the aroma I got mild sweet fruit, alcohol, and some coffee malt. In the flavor I swear I detected some oak. I also got mild dark roast malt, coffee/burnt malt, dark fruit, alcohol, and mild hops. As it warmed: I got chocolate on the nose and more burnt malt and alcohol. Palate-wise it was smooth.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2008 Again bottle from Sloth (TTG). Batch 78. Pours a very dark brown/black buyt yet has some mesmerizing deep amber tones from bottle to glass that are then not seen again. Head is steady as is carbonation. lacing is moderate. If there is any coffe used in this brew it is masterfully done. thats saying alot since my recent rant on the use of coffee in beer should equal prison time. Fresh almonds and vanilla in the nose and body. A slight tart that is enveloped by the chc malts and slowly leaks back into the finish. Some earthy basement tones at finish as well.
