Mar 2, 2008 Not bad, tastes like a big dry stout. Lots and lots of roast, ashy with alot of coffee. Medium palate but not alot of heavy sweet malts. Rather, notably dry, bitter and roasted. Quite a bit of carbonation, with a big foamy head and a fizzy mouthfeel. Nearly opaque, deep crimson at the edges in the light.

Feb 29, 2008 Bottle: Very dark brown pour with crimson edges. Large beige head. Roasty tones, dark chocolate, and dark fruits make up a nice aroma. Tastes of roasted malt, slightly burnt, coffee, bitters, currants, and has a slight fruity twinge. Enjoyable. Thanks BuckDich.

Feb 27, 2008 Labled "Norse Porter". Poured fairly black with a beige head. Roasted malt with a good amount of chocolate in the aroma and the flavor. Semi-sweet mild-moderately bitter finish. Light-medium bodied.

Feb 14, 2008 Bottle (500ml) shared with jerc, mabel, GregClow & mds -- courtesy of mabel. Pours a very dark brown with a foamy light-brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, light coffee, eggshells and dark chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee, traces of cocoa and lactic notes. Dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Very good, I quite enjoyed it.

Feb 10, 2008 Bottle from Batch 78 brewed May 07, drunk on 2/10/2008. Brown/black pour with a large, sturdy, and rocky light brown head. Dark chocolate aroma, accented with espresso and dark fruit. Creamy, medium to heavy body, and soft carbonation, mildly resinous, and a dry palate. Mocha flavors dominate, followed by some piney bitterness. Finish is dry and satisfying. Excellent.

Feb 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown-black body with a fluffy mocha-brown head. Aroma is chocolatey with some chalky grape and raisin almonds. The flavour has some bitter cocoa, coffee roast, and chalky resin. Fairly dry in the finish. Quite good.
