| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Grimstad. Norway. Dark brown with a brownish head. The smell was burnt tones with clear elements of chocolate and coffee. I did also find some traces of soy.
Norse Porter tastes like chocolate and espresso coffee. A little fruity tones were there too as well as roasted malt. The body was decent and the liquid rather smooth. The bitterness was not too high. After-taste was dry and did last for a while. sebletitje (1997), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2009 Pours a very dark brown/black color with some very slight mahogany edges when held to a light source and a huge three finger frothy tan head. Very good retention, slowly fading into a lasting cap that leaves a good bit of chunky lacing.
Roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate, caramel, oatmeal, toffee, nut and coffee.
Once again the roasted malt dominate the flavor with hints of oatmeal, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, hazelnut, burnt toast and a sweet dry finish. Ober (1232), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 29, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very large sized head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a semi-opaque except around the edges no visible carbonation dark brown colored body. The weak aroma was brown malt. The mildly vinous mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow dark malt aftertaste. The weak flavor contained notes of mildly vinous and mild brown malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. bierkoning (6099), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 19, 2009 The opening of the bottle gave a loud bang. Deep dark brown color, opague. Chocolate, ash and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet alcoholic flavor with licorice, roast, caramel and a hint of milk chocolate. An upcoming tartness. Good beer, but could be even better, the flavors don’t always fit together. l1br4r14n (286), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Pours deep brown nearly black with a foamy brown head. Aroma is roasted barley and coffee. Flavor is loads of roasted barley, acidic coffee, and pretty bitter. Mouthfeel is quite carbonated, it seems to foam in my mouth. A pretty good porter, but flavors didn’t really come together for me.
