Jan 12, 2008 Bottle. Batch # 58 brewed November 2006. Pours a pitch black colour with a big creamy good lasting brown head leaving a good thick sticky lacing. Lovely aroma of dark chocolate, well roasted malt and caramel, coffee and some liquorice. Very good mouthfeel. The flavour is smooth with a very good soft but robust roasty maltiness, dark chocolate, coffee, soft bitter hoppiness, roasted caramel and slight liquorice. Long lasting chocolate roasty maltiness. Great brew!

Jan 9, 2008 500 ml Bottle poured a clear dark brown with a large lasting tan head. Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt and light vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate and roastiness with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Jan 9, 2008 The aroma is nice and dark with molasses, burnt malt, and some cocoa. The appearance is dark with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is a little thin. Overall this is a good porter.

Jan 9, 2008 a bit on the thin side. Watery is the first impression. The while their some dark taste of cocoa and coffee the palate is almost to weak for anything special.

Jan 8, 2008 Not bad, if I do say so myself!!! This one had a monstrous brown head and a deep near-black color. Medium body and dry but refreshing, this beer is a good representation of the style. Aroma is of roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate and has a flavor to match. Good solid beer...worth picking up if given the chance.

Jan 6, 2008 Good aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Pours a black color with brown highlights and a medium, light brown head. Solid flavor of roasted malt and chocolate with a dry and bitter finish. The body is light with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. Good stuff.

Jan 6, 2008 50 cl bottle, batch #79. Almost black with deep reddish color seen against strong light. Big, brown head. Roasted malt and coffee, hints of liqorice and salt, ok bitterness. A nice, but not a very good porter. Nøgne Ø has done it, Haandbryggeriet has a way to go.

Jan 6, 2008 Bottle (stored ~a year). Dark brown colour with a large tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, leather and black coffee. Slightly burned taste with light hops and a small acidity. Really nice.
