Original 4.1 Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 500 ml bottle - Batch No. 78. Black as coal pour, mocha colored head, light lacing. Cocoa-like aroma, some roasted marshmallow. Flavor presents some dark baker’s chocolate, potting soil, some smokiness, faint fruitiness in the finish. Good chalky mouthfeel. Excellent porter. Will keep my eye out for this brewer. robinvboyer (1443), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

ONe word sums up this beer.......robust! Smells big time of roasted malt, and coffee, with a touch of ripe fruit. Flavour is very roasty, and smokey, with a nice roasted malt finish. great chocolate, and coffee flvours, they mingle nicely. Great stuff! hopscotch (5533), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Bottle... Pitch black ale with a huge, rocky, beige head. Incredible retention. Mocha nose that hints at cinnamon, toasted cashews and caramel. Moderately sweet, dark chocolate flavor. Burnt and decently bittered with a whisper of tartness. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fairly soft carbonation. Finishes burnt, bitter and mostly dry. ucusty (1915), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Spider web esque lacing taboot! Roasted malt on the nose. Malty backbone with hints of coffee. Dry up front bitter & clean on the finish. Another great beer from HaandBryggeriet BDR (2168), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Light roasted malt nose. Slightly roasted malt body with a dry coffee mid palate and more roasted malt on the finish. A very nice porter. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 19, 2007 Pours dark brown with a medium, foamy, light brown head. Smells of mostly roast, light chocolate, and a sweetness to it that I couldnt put my finger on. The flavor was kind of odd, alot of bitterness to it with some roasty nuts. Decently drinkable but the weird bitter sweetness didnt really sit well with me. ChainGangGuy (2613), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2007 Appearance: Pours a deep, dark brown body with a profuse, foamy beige head.
Smell: Roasted malt aroma of high quality chocolate and strong, black fresh brewed coffee. Note of fruity prunes.
Taste: Rich, wonderfully robust roasted maltiness with strong flavors of dark chocolate and strong coffee. Hint of prunes. Light smokiness. Overall, there’s a hefty amount of roasted bitterness that pairs with some herbal hop flavors, both of which last far into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: A very nice porter provided you like your porters packed with strong roasty bitterness.
