The smell was very weak and I had a hard time distinguishing any aroma at all.
The flavor was similar to their Odin’s Trippel, but allot weaker. With chocolate, coffey and nuts. jcwattsrugger (5374), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Pours dark brown with faint hue of purple and decent minute long mocha head. The aroma is mix of milk and dark chocolate, some dark roastiness and burnt molasses. The bold taste is pushed forward by assertive carbonation creating a slightly harsh burnt note to go along with some coffee, burnt molasses and dark chocolate. IT evens out nicely toward the finish creating a pleasing after taste. Very nice flavor that might benefit from a little less carbonation to soften up the slightly harsh start. It ends wonderfully though. thirdeye11 (538), Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours black with a nice light tan head. Smell is of chocolate and alcohol. Taste has chocolate, unsweetened cocoa, mild hops to back it all up, and tastes very alcoholic as well. A nice porter, but not a top tier for me. tripelthreat (81), Soquel, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Bottle. Batch 79. Nice two finger khaki head formed on a nearly black body. Nose is of dusty cocoa, roast and faint fruit. Flavor is strongly roasted tending towards burnt, with chocolate, coffee, and fruit. Bitterness is prominent as is the sourness. Medium palate and pretty smooth. Would have liked less sourness and a little more sweetness to balance the roast. kiefdog (1606), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pretty good porter overall. deyholla (706), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
