Flavor was creamy chocolate, some smoked malt and finished with a little vanilla. Very good porter, although I’m not sure it’s worth 8-9 bucks a bottle. boomer0813 (53), denton, Texas, USA

Pours a dark brown color with a fluffy tan head. Roasty aroma with some woody notes, liquor soaked raisins, and a bit of a "dusty" aroma. Flavor is damn nice. A lot better than I expected from the aroma. Fruit, coffee, chocolate, roast, some hops and a hint of sourness rounds this one out quite nicely. This has aged very well. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2009 Pours black with some light getting through. Medium lived tan head. Smell is roasty chocolate malt. Taste is dry and roasty with dark malt and cocoa flavors. Mouthfeel is a bit overcarbonated and prickly and it foams in the mouth. Overall, a very enjoyable porter but this bottle was overcarbonated, perhaps as it is bottle conditioned and is 2 years old? Not sure...
