May 16, 2009 A deep dark porter with almost smokey roast and some sourish fruity flavors. Bottle hauled up from New Beer in the Bowery. Serious head with clear trace, slightly prickly sour-sweet aroma, taste of chocolate caramel, pale fruit and raisin. Aftertaste is nice and dry with light cocoa note and a tingle of hops. More sweetness hangs on later in the glass, the sourness persisting. Charming little porter and the equal of some good ones.

Apr 25, 2009 black with a brown head carbonation disapears almost right away, smels a little bit of roasted/burned malts, this roasted malts is olso in the taste and it olso is in the finish. Olso some nice bitterness in it. very nice beer

Mar 23, 2009 Pour was nice, good pillowy head, color was a bark brown almost black. Aroma was of roasted chocolate some licorice. Flavor was much the same, light smokiness in there, something off in there little astringent but not bad. Not my favorite style but good anyway.

Mar 13, 2009 Bottle. Black body. Pale brown small head. Medium dry aroma of coffee, roasted malt, licorice and leather. Nice. Flavour is dominated by coffee. Medium dry. Not as complex as the aroma. Large sips brings out a light sourness in the flavor. Light sweet finish. One might say that it is just a tiny tad too thin, to be up with the best in the class. (At home, 12.03.09)

Mar 2, 2009 Strong body, and it stays on your tongue. Roast flavor was very strong, but it didn’t mix well with the steak I was eating.
Worth trying for something new, but it won’t supplant any of the other best porters.

Feb 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a 3 finger foamy tan head that leaves ok lacing. The nose is milk chocolate, dark fruit and roasted malt. The taste is ashy cocoa, charred malt, roasted coffee beans and a slight sour fruit finish. Medium creamy body. Decent porter.

Pours a dark brown almost black color. Nice brown head that fades away. Nose is sweet chocolate, sweet roasted malts, and hints of oakiness. Flavor is sweet with a lot of chocolates and caramel. There’s a hint of a hop profile in this beer too which is nice at the finish! Another impressive porter from the Norwegians.
