DrFunk (80), Sorumsand, Norway Aug 2, 2008 Bottle from ICA, Oslo. Pours Clear brown with small beige head. Spicy aroma with red fruits. Spicy taste as well with well balanced tartness. Low carbonation. Proof that a seasonal Christmasbeer can be great in august too!
Rune (2038), Tromsø, Norway Dec 27, 2008 Batch no. 102, brewed in Oct. 07, 500ml bottle by courtesy of Knut Albert. Pours a crystal clear, rosewood body under a thin ring of bubbles. Rather tranquil aroma of sweet, nutty malts. The flavour has got more to offer, starting with roasted dark malts followed by raisin and blackcurrant, and finally developing into a dry, bitter ending of liquorice. Medium bodied. Pleasurable [enjoying the Yuletide mood on a dark eve at home in Tromsø, 26.12.2008]. cheeta (734), Langå, Denmark Dec 5, 2008 Moderate malty aroma. Large frothy, light brown head. Good lacing. Cloudy amber body. Heavy bitter and light smoked. Medium palate. jbrus (4350), Delft, Netherlands Oct 24, 2008 Bottle@Home. Licorice wood, roasted, clove and other spices.
