Commercial Description:

English: This beer has a very complex, yet light taste. For a bock this beer combines maltiness with the fruity clove-like taste of weizen yeast for a great taste experience. The beer is suitable for long-term storage and improves with age. Can be enjoyed at any season, also as a Christmas beer. (Translated from the Norwegian.)

500mL drank alone under a wind and rain storm at +1 Celsius in a graveyard on the Lofoten Islands at 4:30 a.m. Strong, everlasting off-white head covers the very dark brown to purple pour. Highly yeasty and in a rather dusty, stoney, jammy way. The wheat comes across quite grainy while the dark malts add a pretty much roasty kick akin to some of the most agreeable dunkelweizens. In mouth, this initially nameless roast develops further into chocolate chips suggestions and while it drinks very easily all along, a mellow and warming alcohol touch chimes in. Medium-bodied, natural medium-high carbonation that manages to slice through the sweetness, nicely drying out. I was quite surprised at the low scores as I found it very idiosyncratic and lovely myself, though the setup I drank it in was probably the most unusual of my young drinking career.

500ml bottle (Pikkulint, Helsinki) Jet black, fizzy head. Malty and marmitey aroma. Very fizzy in the mouth, hard to judge the real taste. After a few swirls, it’s got a full body - malty. This isn’t really a weizen, or a bock to my tastes. It may be slightly sickly sweet, but isn’t a 100% match for the bock style.

Bottled at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Christmassy, cucumber and cloves aroma. Almost black, very lively with a beige head. Bubbles a lot! Too much of the bubbles for my taste... Taste a bit of sweet...puke?? Chocolate? Too strange for me, and has nothing to do with the other weizenbocks I’ve tried.

Dark brown color; huge head, just foam. Very malty, both the aroma and taste, a lot of caramel, very sweet, but also some off-flavors due to the over fermentation. Uncontrolled.

Bottle @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Medium brown color with a large frothy fair lacing, mostly diminishing beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, chocolate, coffee, sugar, vanila. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.

Murky brown body, small beige head; Very chocolate malty nose with licorice notes as well; Murky warm unclear body; Lots of length and aroma in finish, warm yeasty. Strange.

500 ml bottle - batch # 23. Almost black, extremely big, brown head. (I had to pour to glasses to stop the foam from the bottle). Aroma is coffee and some sweetness. Flavor is coffee, liqourice, roasted malt. spme alcohol. Dry finish. Overcarbonated - and that´s a shame; otherwise it would be 3,9.
