Bottle from Clockwork Brewery. Amber Brown, head quickly dissipates. Aroma of toffee, malt, sweet alcohol, apple, butterscotch. Thick mouthfeel. Syrupy finish. A little too sweet and alcohol laden for my taste. I’ve not had a dopplebock for ages, so I’m not sure if this is typical of the style or not.

Hazy red orange with a steady, slim off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, brown sugar and sweet fruit. Similar for the taste, plus; very smooth, quite sweet with a slight bitter finish. Excellent doppel.

Bottled. Aroma is butterscotch and dark malts but also sugary. Orange brown color and not dark brown as expected, orange beige head, good lace. Very sweet, some butterscotch but mostly overwhelming apple like European Strong Lagerrs. I also didn’t like the lasting bitterness in the finish and sugar. Sticky and pretty alcoholic.

Bottle@Reading BF. Not a huge fan of doppelbocks. This one was particularly sweet and sticky. Lots of soy and sticky caramel, doughy and sweet. Too sweet, too sticky.

(on bottle; thx joss) Very bready sent, like fresh ryebread. Hazy dark orange, stabil, light beige head. Easy mouthfeel here, some fruits(dades) in there, not much. The finish is malty, bit caramel and coriander. long finish too, malts and toffee. A doppelbock-light.
