Oct 5, 2008 (Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 27 Sep 2008) Dark amber colour with lasting, beige head. Malty, toasted nose with grain, ryvita, orange peel and dried apricots. Malty, grainy taste with notes of dark bread, caramel, dried fruit, apricots and spicy hops in the finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Nice doppelbock with a solid malt foundation and spicy fruit to match.

Sep 30, 2008 Bottled. Hazy amber colour, mediumsized beige creamy head. Aroma is raisins, caramel, mild hops, bready malts, quite sweet malts and some hints of alcohol. Flavour is malts, caramel, raisins, alcohol and mild notes of hops in the background. Aftertaste is rather sweet malts and raisins with some breadyness too.

Sep 22, 2008 Bottle at ØLbaren - thanks Sune for the taste. High reddish/brown - white head. Chocolate, sweetness, high sweetness, ryebread, light hoppy, nuts, honey, dryness, it hides the 8,1% alcohol very nicely - but it’s far too sweet, needs some balance !!!

Sep 21, 2008 Bottle @ Ølbaren. Pours a clear red brown with a diminishing off-white head. Sweet and somewhat dry. Also hints of nuts and honey. Nice breadyness. More honey hints towards the finish. Small hint of flowers in the finish.

Aug 29, 2008 Bottle w/ swing-top: Poured a chocolate brown color with a red tint around the edges, head was beige. The aroma was dark fruits with chocolate and roasted nuts. Taste was fruit and roasted touch, sweet dry finish with nuts. Made me feel warm.

Aug 15, 2008 Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Great name .....Poured a dark reddy hazy brown colour with a small off white head. Raisin, cherry, dark chocolate aroma. Thick mouthfeel ; sticky sweet, flavour had roasted malt and hop elements. Very nice indeed, got beitter with each sip. Complex palate, worth investigating; definitely want more of this. A quality Doppelbock.

Aug 9, 2008 (7/4/08) Bottle at Altes Hackerhaus in Munich. Deep red color with a big beige head. Aroma of lots of malt, nice toastiness, caramel and dark fruity notes as well as a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor with a big caramelly malt character and some faint roasty hints. Medium to full-bodied. A hearty, well-made, Doppelbock.
