SHIG (1659), Oberoffligen, Germany Aug 29, 2008 Bottle w/ swing-top: Poured a chocolate brown color with a red tint around the edges, head was beige. The aroma was dark fruits with chocolate and roasted nuts. Taste was fruit and roasted touch, sweet dry finish with nuts. Made me feel warm.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, toffee, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (310808) NoiZe (1026), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands Nov 1, 2008 Red colored brew. Aroma is caramel, burned malts. Flavor of burned malts, caramel. Nice one. Skinnyviking (2947), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 31, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and lasting white head. Very dark brown clear body. Caramel butter aroma and flavor wtih little hops bitterness. Low carbonation. Short aftertaste. kappldav123 (1128), Markkleeberg, Germany Oct 6, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also, very much foam for a doppelbock. Tastes strong and spicy, like christmas, intense but not alcoholic finish. Not too malty. Really good!

Malty, toasted nose with grain, ryvita, orange peel and dried apricots. Malty, grainy taste with notes of dark bread, caramel, dried fruit, apricots and spicy hops in the finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Nice doppelbock with a solid malt foundation and spicy fruit to match.
