What I would have to say is a typical aroma for the style. Sweet grain, hints of noble hops and touch of lemon zest. Full pale malt flavors. To me this is what beer is, a simple mix of malt and hops. Not much pretense to this. Some flowery hops in the middle. A bit of bitterness and touch of citrus in the finish to crisp things up. To use the latest statement of the era, "it it what it is". A hearty down to earth lager. rosenbergh (941), Helsinki, Finland

Hazy pale orange/yellow colour with medium white head. Earthy malty aroma with some honey sweetness. Earthy grassy malty flavour. Some hints of hops, not much though. Not bad. Slayer85 (587), Firenze, Italy
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Swing top bottle. A lightly hazy deep, dark golden beer with a huge, rocky and quite lasting white head. The aroma is quite good, malty with some grassy hops and some bread notes.. Not powerful but interesting nose. The flavour is not overly sweet, quite balanced, again bready. Medium body, lively carbonation, medium finish with medium bitterness. Good, drinkable, though not the best in this style. bleeng (600), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Swing top bottle. Hazy bright gold. Big white dissapaiting head. Nice malty sweet nose. Taste comes off very malty, a bit funky (old bottle?), sweetish. Nice smooth body and very drinkable. Full mouth and very flavorful. Good beer. illidurit (895), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2009 500 mL swingtop bottle poured into a pilsener glass. Cloudy gold color with a fizzy white head that manages to stick around due to tons of bubble columns streaming from the bottom of the glass (there’s not even an etching). Aromas of banana pith, wet wheat, slight caramel, and honey. Flavor is light, grainy, and sweet. Part helles lager and part weizen. Not a lot of pilsener character. I don’t taste any earthy hops. It’s very crisp and tasty enough to make up for the very light body. Refreshing and drinkable. HomeBrewHawk (279), De Soto, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 20, 2009 500ml brown swingtop served in a shaker pint. This was bottle conditioned, so it poured a hazy pale gold. Less than a finger of white, fine bubbled head. Lots of biscuity malt in the aroma. More malt in the flavor, which I would describe as a little bready. There is a bit of noble hop bitterness in there. Very smooth and drinkable. Fairly rich mouthfeel. Nicely done. jebb12 (39), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Grain tones with distinct qualities of acidic citrusness, vinnegar and offputing medicine and iron. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway

Cloudy yellow, rather weak aroma. A hint of barnyard, lots of chewy cereals, understated hoppy finish. Quaffable, but rather forgettable.
